In 2024, our team worked on two programs to help make our communities feel like home: the Pay It Forward program in Neenah, and our Random Acts of Kindness program. Both impacted hundreds of people across central Wisconsin!
Here’s what we accomplished together.
Pay It Forward
This fall, our Neenah team worked with Future Neenah to support local businesses. Customers received a free $5 or $10 voucher that was paid forward to a small business their community when they spent the same amount. Four events were held from September to December, where shoppers redeemed a total of 165 vouchers, bringing in over $6,400 in sales!
These events weren’t just about making money though, they brought people together and helped small businesses grow.
As Sara Hanneman from Future Neenah said, “Never underestimate the power and impact of shopping local and shopping small. These events brought in customers and supported businesses across our community.”
One of the businesses, Bedrock Coffee Roasters shared, “Thank you! We’re so happy to partner with you for this wonderful event.”
Random Acts of Kindness
Each of our branches leads a Random Acts of Kindness event quarterly in their community. The goal is to make someone’s day and give back, whether that is gift cards to grocery shoppers, or making a heartfelt donation to a local non-profit. These events helped organizations such as St. Vincent DePaul, Hansen’s IGA, the Stevens Point School District, and more.
From backpacks full of goodies to help the unhoused population to buying breakfast for local diner-goers, these small acts help make a big difference to so many people!
Why We Do It
At Simplicity Credit Union, helping others is part of who we are. These programs are just two ways to show how much we care about our friends and neighbors.
We’re proud of what we accomplished in 2024 and look forward to in 2025. Together, we can make a difference!
